On the basis of the surviving sources, it is difficult to determine whether the convent cultivated a vibrant musical culture. The article therefore analyses the criteria and conditions for music in female monastic communities in general and examines the dynamics of several musically active convents in the wider region, comparing them with the circumstances and conditions in StudeniceKljub več kot poltisočletnemu obstoju dominikanske skupnosti (ok. 1245–1782) v Studenicah se je o glasbenih dejavnostih v samostanu ohranilo malo podatkov. Na vprašanje, ali je bil samostan kraj živahne glasbene kulture, je na podlagi ohranjenih virov težko odgovoriti.
