After a period of decline in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, caused by Ottoman incursions and the spread of Protestantism, the community was renewed within the framework of the Counter-Reformation through the admission of candidates from Hungary and Croatia. In the second half of the seventeenth century this development led to ethnic and social tensions within the convent. In the eighteenth century the social structure of the community gradually shifted in favour of candidates of bourgeois origin, while at the same time the supervision of secular authorities intensified. This process ultimately culminated in the dissolution of the convent in 1782"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Prispevek obravnava dominikanski samostan v Studenicah kot pomembno žensko redovno ustanovo na Spodnjem Štajerskem v zgodnjem novem veku, s poudarkom na redovnicah plemiškega porekla iz dežel Notranje Avstrije. Po zatonu v 15. in 16. stoletju (osmanski vpadi, protestantizem) se je skupnost v okviru protireformacije obnovila z vključevanjem kandidatk iz Ogrske in Hrvaške, kar je v drugi polovici 17. stoletja v samostanu povzročilo narodnostne in družbene spore.
