KNJIŽNICA O TO N A ŽU PAN Č IČ A IN NJENI UPORABNIKI Damijana Hainz in Irena Kernel, Knjižnica O tona Župančiča, Ljubljana UDK 027.022 (497.4 Ljubljana) Povzetek Knjižnica mora poleg komunikacije poznati tudi komunikante. Empirično-socio- loške raziskave so način, kako knjižnice ugotavljajo mnenje svojih uporabnikov. Raziskave odnosa med knjižnico in uporabniki so nepogrešljiv pokazatelj sodelo­ vanja med tema dvema subjektoma ter pomemben segment za načrtovanje so­ dobnega poslovanja knjižnic. Strokovna vrednost prognoze temelji na analizi trenutnega stanja, ki določa usmeritve prihodnjega razvoja. V Knjižnici Otona Župančiča v Ljubljani smo leta 1990 izvedli raziskavo javnega mnenja bralcev ter nekatera vprašanja preverili s kratkimi anketami v čitalnicah knjižnice v letih 1994 in 1996. Raziskava iz leta 1990 bo v celoti ponovljena leta 2000. S ponovljeno anketo bo mogoče preveriti dosedanje rezultate in spoznanja ter ugotovitve smiselno uporabiti za nadaljnje definiranje nalog in dejavnosti Knjižnice Otona Župančiča. Prispevek obravnava nekatera vprašanja in odgovore nanje, ki so jih pokazale ankete iz omenjene raziskave. Na teh področjih smo začeli sistematično izboljševati odnos med knjižnico in njenimi uporabniki. Libraries get opinion from their users by means of empirical-sociological studies. Studies of relation between a library and its users are an indispensable indicator of cooperation betwen the two subjects and an important segment for planning modern activities of libraries. Expert value of the prognosis is based on the analysis of current condition. A public opinion research among the readers was carried out by the Oton Župančič Library in 1990. Certain questions were re­ checked in the Library's reading rooms also in 1994 and 1996. The 1990 study will be repeated in 2000. This will enable the Library to re-check the earlier results and cognitions and logically use the established information for further defining of tasks and activities of the Oton Župančič Library. The contribution treats certain questions and answers to the questions which were a result of the questionnaire from the above mentioned study. In these fields, the Library systematically started to improve the relation between the library and its users.
