240 UDK 373.3.016(497.4):811.124'02 1.04 Strokovni članek Prejeto: 23. 10. 2015 Katjuša Kolar * Poskus uvajanja latinščine kot obveznega izbirnega predmeta v zadnjo triado osnovnih šol v Mariboru in okolici: per aspera An attempt at introducing Latin as a compulsory elective subject in the third cycle of primary schools in Maribor and surroundings: per aspera Izvleček Prispevek govori o poskusu uvajanja latin- ščine kot obveznega izbirnega predmeta v zadnjo triado osnovnih šol v Mariboru in nje- govi okolici oziroma o kakršnikoli prisotnosti latinščine na nekaterih mariborskih osnov- nih šolah v letih 2013‒2015 ter o ovirah in težavah. Po letu 1999, ko se je zaključil ek- sperimentalni projekt Zavoda RS za šolstvo, se latinščina na nobeni izmed mariborskih OŠ do danes ni obdržala niti kot izbirni predmet. V precej kaotičnem obdobju ukinjanja dru- gega tujega jezika kot obveznega predmeta in sočasnem uvajanju drugega tujega jezika kot neobveznega izbirnega predmeta je trno- va pot za kratek čas vendarle obrodila nekaj sadov: OŠ Maksa Durjave se je v šolskem letu 2012/13 z latinščino vključila v projekt Popestrimo šolo, OŠ Dušana Flisa Hoče je v šolskem letu 2013/14 izvajala latinščino I in v šolskem letu 2014/15 latinščino II. V šolskem letu 2015/16 deset mladih latincev obiskuje latinščino I na OŠ Miklavž na Dra- vskem polju. * Katjuša Kolar, prof. latinščine in stare grščine, Škofijska gimnazija Antona Martina Slomška, Maribor, e-pošta: katjusa.kolar@guest.arnes.si Abstract The article describes an attempt to introduce Latin as a mandatory elective subject in the third cycle of primary schools in the Maribor area and the ways in which Latin was present at a number of Maribor primary schools be- tween 2013 and 2015, as well as obstacles and problems that arose. After 1999, when the experimental project by the Institute of Edu- cation of the Republic of Slovenia finished, Latin was not maintained at any of Maribor primary schools even as an elective subject. In the rather chaotic period when the second foreign language became an optional elective rather than a compulsory subject, the uphill struggle nevertheless produced some short- lived results: in the school year 2012/2013, the Maks Durjava Primary School joined the project Let’s Enliven School with its Latin lessons; in the same year the Dušan Flis Pri- mary School in Hoče carried out the subject Latin I and in the school year 2014/15, Latin II; and in the school year 2015/16, ten young pupils attended Latin I at the primary school in Miklavž na Dravskem polju.
