Researchers, F policymakers, and individuals recognise it is their responsibility to improve the quality of life while preserving the environment for future generations. Economies and societies must therefore plan, act, and create a future that leaves room for future generations. The Next Generation EU instrument, an ambitious recovery plan launched by the European Union, recognises the critical role of the four pillars embedded in green and digital foundations in shaping the future. As we navigate through an ever-evolving and complex world, it is crucial to address the challenges that lie ahead. Scientists and researchers are responsible for exploring, investigating, and making the world a better place. The MIC 2024 conference focused on addressing the next-generation chal-lenges across various industries, sectors, and disciplines. In June 2024, re-searchers, professionals, and educators gathered in Trento, Italy, to share ideas, research, and perspectives with the MIC community, leading to engaging and thought-provoking discussions. The conference welcomed over 130 partici-pants and included the presentation of 89 papers. We sincerely thank all the participants and presenters for their valuable contributions. Authors were invited to submit their full papers for inclusion in the MIC 2024 Conference Proceedings, and all submitted papers underwent a double-blind peer review process. Several papers presented at the MIC 2024 conference were published in the MIC supporting journals: • Academica Turistica • Economic Research/Ekonomska istraživanja • E-mentor • Human Systems Management • International Journal of Sustainable Economy • Journal of Enterprising Communities • Managing Global Transitions • Micro & Macro Marketing • Public Sector Economics • Review of Innovation and Competitiveness • Strategic Change.
