W e are pleased to invite you to the Contemporary Spirituality conference, which will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, on October 6–7, 2023. The conference aims to draw atten - tion to various aspects of religious life, rit- uals, and spirituality in past and contempo- rary societies. The organizers invite present - ing researchers to focus primarily (although not exclusively) on topics related to: RITUAL Sub-topics we would like presenters to focus on: the importance of religious and non-re- ligious rituals, theoretical reflections, ritual as a group cohesion practice, religious com- munity and socialisation; (PLACE) IDENTITY Sub-topics we would like presenters to focus on: personal, community and social identity, alt-right movements, fake news, identitarian movements, religious narratives about/in natio- nal conflicts, religious leadership and hierarchy in religious communities, religious diversity and tolerance, religious minorities and the state; HEALING AND THERAPY Sub-topics we would like presenters to focus on: Covid, mind-altering drugs (ayahuasca), drug use in contemporary spirituality, the ethical issues of doing research with people committing criminal acts.
