The title of the conference was Managing the Global Diversities. The main challenge and the main theme of the conference was therefore to address the persistent global imbalances and management of global and regional diversities in such a way to se-cure more inclusive and more sustainable socio-economic development in the future. The issue of managing global diversities was discussed in six thematic areas: management, economics, finance, tourism, energy and digital society. We would like to extend a sincere appreciation to all the participants and presenters for their contributions and participation. This year we received 182 submissions and selected the best 130 papers from authors from 33 countries, and the total number of participants reached 185 (together with panel discussions and workshops). All abstracts of papers were included in the Book of Abstracts, ready for the conference. After the conference authors were invited to submit their full papers to the MIC 2018 Conference Proceedings. In the Conference Proceedings 29 papers are published (af-ter a double-blind peer review process). We are glad that a large number of authors who presented at the MIC 2018 conference published their full papers in the MIC supporting journals: • Academica Turistica – Tourism and Innovation Journal, • Economic and Social Changes: Facts, Trends, Forecast, • Economic Research/Ekonomska Istraživanja, • International Journal of Computational Economics and Econometrics, • Journal of the New Economic Association/Zhournal Novoi Ekonomicheskoi Asso-ciacii, • Management, • Management and Production Review, • Managing Global Transitions, • Review of Innovation and Competitiveness. We sincerely thank all the editors for their co-operation. Our deepest gratitude goes to Keynote Speakers, Dr. Peter Orazem (Iowa State University, USA) and Dr. Marjan Svetličič (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia).
