Kako lahko druge naredimo drugačne, kako jih lahko poboljšam? Če pogledam kaktus in če se ga hočem dotakniti, so mi povsod v na poto bodice, povsod me zbada. Morda ste že srečali podobnega človeka? Čim se mu približaš, naletiš na bodice in ti pov-zroča bolečine. Toda noben kaktus nima toliko bodic, da ne bi imel prostora za cvet. Včasih moramo dolgo, mesece ali leta čakati, da kaktus vzcvete. Toda ko vzcvete, je njegov cvet eden najlepših, kar jih poznamo. Vsak človek, naj ima še toliko bodic, napak, je v mladih letih prejel toliko ljubezni in spoznanj, da ima dovolj moči v sebi - pognati cvet, (postati dober) sicer ne bi mogel več živeti. Imeti moramo le dovolj potrpljenja, znati moramo počakati, potem bomo pri vsakem odkrili med slabostmi tudi dobre lastnosti.
Jezus nam je pokazal, kako ravna Bog. Naletel je na ljudi, ki so bili polni bodic. Ni se ustavljal pri njihovih napakah, ampak je poiskal v njih dobre strani, med katerimi je bil prostor za cvet. Tako je ravnal s cestninarji. Vedel je, da so oderuhi a jih ni preziral kot so jih drugi, ni se oziral na njihove napake, ampak je rekel: »Danes hočem ostati v tvoji hiši«, Zaheju, ali »hodi za menoj!«, Mateju.
Prav tako »ni odpodil grešnice, ki mu je mazilila noge, celo zagovarjal jo je: »Ker si mnogo ljubila, ti je Bog tudi mnogo odpustil«. Če bi ji očital njene grehe in bi ji rekel: Ti vlačuga! Kaj delaš tu? Ti me hočeš spraviti ob dober glas, bi imela še več bodic, bi jo še bolj pahnil v greh ali podobno z razbojnikom na križu.
Jezus torej kaže, kako moramo ljudi narediti drugačne. Biti do njih dobri in se ne ozirati na njihove napake. Sam o sebi ne veš, koliko bodic imaš, ne veš, kolikokrat druge zbadaš in jim povzročaš bolečine. Toda, če hočeš, da bodo imeli drugi in Bog s teboj potrpljenje, potem imej tudi ti potrpljenje z napakami drugih. Potem boš pomagal drugim, da bodo postali drugačni in jim boš pomagal, da bodo spremenili življenje.
Procesija sv. Rešnjega Telesa pri društvu Slovenski park
V nedeljo, 9. junija smo se zbrali v Slovenskem parku za sveto mašo in procesijo sv. Rešnjega Telesa s tremi oltarji. Hvala vsem, ki ste se potrudili, da so bili oltarji lepo urejeni. Hvala deklicam, da so potresale cvetje in vsem sodelavcem, ki ste sodelovali v procesiji in pri maši. Lepo vreme je pripomoglo, da je bila procesija dostojanstvena.
SLOVENSKI DAN 2013 - PREVOZ_
The 2013 - Slovenski Dan / Slovenian Day Celebration and Picnic will be held on June 23th at Club Sava - Kitchener, Ontario. For this special occasion, Društvo sv. Jožefa / St. Joseph Society is chartering a bus for the day. The coach will depart from St. Gregory the Great Parking lot 9:30 AM sharp and return, leaving Breslav at 7:00 PM.

Sunday's Readings 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Response: Lord, forgive the guilt of my sin.
First Reading 2 Samuel 12:7-10. 13 King David, greatly blessed by God, learns through repentance that he cannot simply take all he desires. In his sorrow he learns about God's justice - but also of God's great love and forgiveness.
Second Reading Galatians 2:16. 19-21 For Paul the great revelation in Christ is that we don't learn to be God-like through obeying rules, but rather through a thankful and humble loving relationship with Christ, crucified and risen.
Gospel_Luke 7:36 - 8:3
The righteous and good Pharisee Simon has to learn the meaning of love from the repentant woman with a bad name. Jesus tells us that it is she who comes closer to understanding God's love.

In 2005 Pope Benedict XVI wrote an encyclical about love - Deus Caritas Est, "God is love". In this letter the Pope explored the most fundamental reality of Christianity - the revelation that God is love, that it is love which informs all of Christian living. But in revisiting such a well-known theme, Benedict was well aware of how difficult a thing this is to talk about - especially for many people today. Before the encyclical was published, he spoke with a certain trepidation about the theme:
"Today the word 'love' is so tarnished, so spoiled and so abused, that one is almost afraid to pronounce it." The very term "love" has, he wrote, "become one of the most frequently used and misused words".
Today we live in a world where love is often romanticised, and immediately linked with sex, desire and simple attraction; none of these things are, of themselves, necessarily wrong - but their dominance can make the Christian message of love difficult to express in all its richness. "Love", for many, becomes a question of how attractive we are to others, and so about how to make ourselves appear more lovable, more desirable.
Gospel Teaching
Today's readings, however, invite us to ponder on love in a rather different way. At their heart is a message not about being attractive, but about a more profound sense of loving and being loved. It is only in knowing what we're really like and knowing that we are, just like this, fully loved by the Father, that we can begin to understand the true meaning of the "tarnished" language of love. It is only this knowledge of our being loved - in spite of who we are - that can teach us to love.
In the Gospel Jesus centres this teaching about love on the woman with "a bad name in the town". Her actions are powerfully expressive of love; but Jesus points to the deeper wellspring of her tears and kisses - she has sinned, and has been forgiven. Indeed, the Lord says that her sins "must have been forgiven" or else she would not have been capable of such a demonstration of love. In the strength of her forgiven sinfulness, the woman overcomes any sense of embarrassment, or fear of judgement, so as to be able to be close to Jesus and witness to love.
This story brings us near the heart of what it means to say "God is love". It is a truth about God
glimpsed by King David. In David's story the destructive powers of wrong desire are contrasted with the love of God. Through Nathan's ministry, David comes to see his own sin for what it is, and is able to return to God broken and repentant. It is then that he knows just how deeply he is loved. It is, as St Paul points out, when we know we cannot save ourselves, and must turn to God, that we begin to learn who we really are, and how much God loves us in Christ crucified. In learning this, we too learn to show "such great love".

13th Annual Slovenian Day Camp: _August 6 - 9, 2013_
This year we will hold our 13th annual Slovenian Day Camp. We are in the process of planning an exciting week filled with fun activities for all our kids. There will be crafts, sports, singing, dancing, Water Fun and of course a few new surprises. We hope that our Slovenian youngsters will take this opportunity to enjoy the company of great friends and ready to make new friends share in laughter, cheering and a week of nothing but fun. We're all sure to have an awesome time at SDC! For Teenagers in high school - if you need your volunteer hours, you can get your 40 hours in just one week. So we welcome you to take this opportunity to have fun with kids, participate in your community and fulfil your volunteer requirements.
If you have kids, grandchildren, cousins, etc... between the ages of 4 and 11yrs, tell them about our camp and sign up now. It's only $65.00 for a week of fun packed activities!

All youth of Slovenian background in the Hamilton/ Wentworth, Halton and Niagara Regions entering college or university or whose studies are in progress are encouraged to apply. BARAGOVI DNEVI_
Tudi letos se odpravljamo na Baragove dneve, ki bodo prvi vikend v oktobru v mestu DULUTH v zvezni državi Minnesota - na koncu Lake Superior. Ker je pot precej dolga bomo šli v petek, 4. oktobra zjutraj, prespali bomo v Marquettu, tam kjer smo tudi lansko leto. V soboto bomo nadaljevali pot do Duluth, kjer bo zvečer Slovenska maša. Tam bomo potem tudi prespali. V nedeljo dopoldne si bomo ogledali znamenitosti v mestu, popoldne je angleška maša in banket nato pa se bomo vrnili do Maquetta in prespali, v ponedeljek zjutraj pa se vračamo domov. KATEDRALA: OBLETNICE POROK_
V nedeljo, 2. junija 2013, je bila v hamiltonski katedrali ob dveh popoldne sv. maša za vse pare, ki letos obhajajo različne okrogle obletnice porok. Zbralo se je več kot 450 parov, od tega nekaj tudi iz naše župnije.
Nekateri so se uspeli zbrati za skupno sliko /od leve/ : Benc, Vincent & Magda /40/, Ferenčak, Alojz & Dragica /40/, Farbotko, Peter & Theresa /25/, Ferko, Karol & Emilia /50/, Antolin, Jožef & Albina /40/, Krušič, Ivan & Ljudmila /50/, Špiler, Miran & Helen /25/, Ponikvar, Jerry & Lillian Ljerka /50/ in Pelcar, Franc & Pavla /60/, ki pa nista prišla na sliko, ker sta bila v katedrali pri škofu za
podelitev priznaj.
Nekateri pari se niso prijavili za praznovanje v katedrali, pa prav tako praznujejo različne okrogle obletnice porok: Ray, Štefan & Gizella /60/, Baznik, Alojz & Albina /50/, Zadravec, Franc & Milka /50/.
Morda je še kakšen par, ki obhaja letos okroglo obletnico, pa nam ni znano.
Vsem želim iskrene čestitke za vztrajnost v zakonu in za dober zgled, ki ga dajejo mladini, ki se še pripravlja na zakonski stan. Bog vas vse blagoslavljaj in podpiraj še naprej s svojo milostjo.
