In kaj čaka takega nezaželenega o-troka? Odstranite najprej skušnjavo, potem pa pridigajte, zakaj ste jo odstranili! Kako molimo v Očenašu: in ne vpelji nas v skušnjavo — and lead us not into temptation? Vse lepo pozdravljam in blagoslavljam v imenu Očeta in Sina in Svetega Duha. Ludovik Kastelic, župnik Vsem, ki so darovali za popravilo in obnovo omenjenih cerkva in kapelice, ponovno iskrena hvala! We are gathered here to hear the report of the Officers of the Supreme Board and to submit them for approval to the Convention. We are attending this Convention to give all the Delegates an opportunity to express themselves, to pass on various changes in the Rules and Regulations of the Society and to transact other business that only delegates to a Convention are empowered to perform. There is a great need for our organization in all the States of the Union and the good it performs speaks for itself. The ones benefitted by ihe Society are the best advertisement for the Society. It is not selfish but rather selfless in coming to the aid of its membership — no problem is too great or too small for its consideration. There is evidence that the charity permeating the Supreme Board, from the President down to the lowliest young lady employed in the Home Office, that charity is slowly filtered down into all the Lodges and can bring but continued blessings from God. *6 * - Let us continue to support the Supreme Board, particularly the President, Joseph J. Bonutti, coordinator of the program., is editing the series which was made possible by grants from the George Gund Foundation and the U.S. Office of Education. Dr. Bonutti, who1 is also an associate professor of economics at CSU, has tapped the writing services of some of Cleveland’s most prominent writers and ethnic leaders for the series. “Early Settlers of Cleveland,” the first monograph to be published, was written by William Donohue Ellis, a prominent writer on the early days of the Western Reserve. Ellis wrote “The Ohio Story,” a legendary radio and later tele- j vision series, for 14 years. In his monograph, Ellis follows the early history of Cleveland from the first survey of the lands of the Western Reserve 1796 through the completion of work on the Ohio and Erie Canals in 1827, an event generally considered by Cleve- of the frontier period here. The 150-page monograph can be purchased through the Ethnic Heritage Studies office for $3.95. Checks should be made payable to Cleveland State University. Other ethnic communities which will be profiled in monographs are the Slovenian, Arab, Czech, and German. Ellen Gam-brill serves as copy editor for the series.
