U-Horjena bo slovenska enode- uradu, kako naj se postopa z njimi v slučaju bolezni ali smrti itd., ker se članstvo protivi obiskovanju takih članov. Žalostno je, ker imamo take člane, kajti vsakdo lahko ve, da nasprotuje sam sebi in vsaki dobri podporni in delavski organizaciji. Predlog je soglasno sprejet. Sledi odmor, da se zastopniki lahko udeleže obeda, ki so ga pripravile članice, za kar zaslužijo pohvalo. Predsednik otvori popoldansko sejo ob 1:80 in opozori zastopnike, naj vsak zavzame svoje prejšnje mesto. Cita se imena zastopnikov, ki so vsi navzoči, in zapisnik dopoldanske seje, ki je sprejet. Vsa znamenja kažejo, da bo prav f letno in zabavno. Halinarji «e pridno vežbajo za prvenstvo. Park View Laundry žogarji skeptično gledajo na Wenzelnovo mlekarno, tako ne pričakuje pravcata bitka med omenjenimi igralci žoge. Tudi dekleta h nevernega dela mesta bodo igrala žogo. Tto ho članice društva Integrity z neko drugo skupino deklet. Predsednik skupnih društev br. Pechnik bo nam na kratko povedal o delovanju in napredku čikaških društev Slovenske narodne podporne jednote. Glavni govornik bo pa tikažan, br. Frank Somrak, gl. i>odpredsed-nik, iz Clevelanda. Njegove dolgoletne skušnje v slovenskih organizacijah nam jamčijo, da nam bo kaj koristnega, resnega in zanimivega povedal. Koncem tega tedna in meseca se nudi lepa prilika bližnjim rojakom iz Detroita, 'Clevelanda in Milwaukeeja, da pridejo v soboto in nedeljo pogledat svetov-no razstavo, v pondeljek, to je na praznik, pa posetite piknik skupnih društev iz Chicaga in okolice, ki se vrši v Pilsen parku In sicer ob vsakem vremenu. Kochevarjev orkester bo igral za mlade in stare. Vstopnina je pa samo 25c, ako si vstopnico nabavite vnaprej. Kellermeister I>eo Bruce nam jamči za najboljšo pijačo, kuharice bodo pa tudi postregle z najboljšim jedilom. Dolžnost članov društev št. 39, 131, 270 in 631 pa je, da se priredbe brez izgovora udeležiti' in pomagate k večjemu uspehu. Pripeljite vaše prijatelje in seznanite jih z ostalimi člani Slovenske narodne podporne jednote. S. FEDERATION PICNIC at the Moon Run Portman's grove on Sunday, September 9. Elaborate plans have been made for a great day of fun and frolic that will fittingly climax a great summer of SNPJ picnic events. And whatever one's taste for fun may be, it will be well satisfied, for there will be a full line of fast moving events that will take in everyone. There will be the many races for the girls and fellows, the ball games for the fly-muffers, the hllarical pie-eating contest, and topping off the athletic« will be the event of the season—the great tug-o-war between the brawny-brutes and the brain-busters, or as they are more politely called, the scalawags and braiii-trusters. I'll bet straw« will have to be drawn to classify these rope bulls. And then, after our faces are cleaned of pie marks and the telltale marks of where we hit the dirt cleaned off,, we will gayly escort the young ladies to the large dance pavilion where we will have a »full evening of enjoyable dancing to the smooth rhythm of a popular orchestra. Every E. S. Lodge of Western Penna will be represented there. And after all that is wherein comes the greatest value of such a gathering, for it will offer to everyone the great opportunity of a full afternoon and evening of association with your own Slovene friends from practically every nook and corner in Western Penna, and, we hope, many more from more distant ppjpts. Do you, Brother and Sister members, stop io realize what a great thing this Federation of oyrs is? Hpw it is the greatest link in bringing and holding together the Slovene Youth? Locally our Lodges may be cooperating splendidly, but what other medium could even begin to do so much in bringing these many lodges together to work in cooperation and harmony? So, let us all rally to the call of the Federation on September 9, and all be there on that date, that we may enjoy to the fullest measure the pleasures that Slovenes have when they do things in real American Slovene style. Although I was charged with the duty of writing some Federation news, it is hard to refrain from making some local comments, so here are some side-views slipped in.
