Typographia Joannis Manlii

Tiskar, knjigovez in knjigotržec Janez Mandelc (tudi Hans Mannel ali Joannes Manlius) je na povabilo Jurija Dalmatina in Jurija Khisla v Ljubljano prišel spomladi leta 1575. Takoj, ko so mu deželni stanovi dovolili urediti tiskarno, je natisnil govor Johanna Salicetusa proti Turkom, jeseni 1575 pa je pri njem izšel tudi Dalmatinov prevod Jezusa Siraha. Leta 1581 je nadvojvoda Karel zaradi napete politično-verske situacije tiskanje v Ljubljani prepovedal in sredi priprav na natis Dalmatinovega prevoda Biblije Mandelca izgnal s Kranjske. Spomladi leta 1582 je tiskar zapustil Kranjsko in svojo dejavnost nadaljeval v več mestih na zahodnem Madžarskem, Gradiščanskem in na Hrvaškem. Kljub kratkemu obdobju delovanja je njegova tiskarna poskrbela za uveljavitev črne umetnosti na slovenskem ozemlju. Danes je znanih 28 Mandelčevih ljubljanskih tiskov.

V zbirki je predstavljen izbor Mandelčevih tiskov iz zbirk Narodne in univerzitetne knjižnice, ki so bili primerni za postopek digitalizacije ter en izvod iz Danske kraljeve knjižnice.
